Red Flags Rule Act to be Subject of New Audio Webcast

Identity Theft is on the rise. Medical Identity theft is the fastest
growing type of identity theft.
Section 114 of “FACTA” the Fair & Accurate
Credit Transactions Act, required six regulatory agencies to create
rules requiring organizations that deal with consumer information to
monitor for identity fraud.

found.
The new federal regulation is administered by the Federal Trade
Commission, (FTC).
"The red flags rule is intended to address all forms of identity theft,
including those involving the provision of health care," according to
an FTC document.
"Although identity theft most commonly is associated with financial
transactions, there are increasing concerns about identity fraud in the
context of medical care," the agency said.
